Christmas Shows

  • Great highlight of the year
  • One performance, two nights each year
  • Trauma teams and departments could enter an act, song or poem
  • Practices and rehearsals were the most fun
  • Peter London (trauma surgeon) was an annual performer and usually the victim of several puns
  • The show was full of fun and taking the mick
  • The show was a closed event, free to attend for Acci staff
  • Each year the show was created in the “crow’s nest” the doctors social area above the Children’s Ward
  • There was never a shortage of talent at the Acci despite the turnover of staff
  • Always known as “The Acci Show” there was invariably a theme and in 1975 this was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
  • A retiring collection at the show raised money for charity
