- Sandwich course at the medical school/laboratories qualified as Junior Technician and subsequently gaining a Fellowship in Biomedical Sciences by thesis at Birmingham University
- Employed by the Medical Research Council
- Commenced employment at the Acci in 1955 as Junior Laboratory Medical Technician
- Commenced work same day as Chris Lawrence
- As a junior worked in every discipline gaining a general grounding in bacteriology, virology, mycology, biochemistry, histology and haematology. Virology experienced gained at East Birmingham Hospital
- Became Chief Biomedical Scientist at the Acci
- Involved in numerous papers as part of the MRC team and on her own
- Special memories included the wonderful camaraderie and the effectiveness of team work
- Lectured to the British Burns Association
- Left the Acci when it closed in 1993
- Commenced working in a smaller laboratory at the General Hospital with Chris Lawrence and Harold Lilley undertaking work in burns for Smith & Nephew
- Laboratory relocated to Selly Oak Hospital with the closure of the General Hospital and was finally disbanded with the closure of Selly Oak
- Tony was co-author on almost 20 papers, was recognised for her technical assistance in others, as well as having a single named publication
