  • Ambulance entrance through rubber doors close to main entrance to the hospital 
    • Patients entrance off main hall 
    • Integrally related to x-ray and casualty theatre
    • 3 examination cubicles for trolleys
    • 1 dressing room 
    • 1 sound proof room 
    • Internal waiting space outside the x-ray department, and outside the dressing room 
    • Two wall mounted desks opposite the walking patient entrance which was the focal point for coordination and communication and also functional as a staff base.  The second desk was again wall based and opposite the dressing cubicle 
    • The department handle both ambulatory and non-ambulatory trauma.  Major Trauma was taken straight to the Major Injuries Unit via a separate entrance
    • At the time of closure the department was led by Clinical Nurse Specialist Angela Houston
